Angola and the U.S.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton recently visited Angola. Google Angola in the news, anyway, here are some interesting facts about Angola from the C.I.A. World Fact Book.

Interesting facts about Angola

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ao.html

GDP is 65.8% industry, 24.6% services, and 9.2% agriculture.

The labor force is 85% agriculture, and 15% industry and services.

70% of the population is below the poverty line.

The Angolan flag is designed to honor peasants and workers.

Really? Are they serious? With a poverty level like that you can't expect anyone to believe they are a socialist state as they appear to claim by their flag.

I thought it would be interesting to look at what the C.I.A. World Fact Book had on the United States, so I looked that up.

Interesting facts about the United States

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/us.html

The GDP of the United States is 1.2% agriculture, 19.6% industry, and 79.2% services.

The labor force of the United States is farming, forestry, and fishing 0.6%, manufacturing, extraction, transportation, and crafts 22.6%, managerial, professional, and technical 35.5%, sales and office 24.8%, other services 16.5%

Way back in 2004, 12% of the population was below the poverty line. Interestingly, if you look at the dates of the statistics, this is the oldest by far. The rest of the numbers are from 2007 and 2008.

Why was the statistic for the population below the poverty line neglected since 2004?

Cherry picking Statistics? There appears to be some GOP remnants hanging around at the C.I.A.
